You can save money on your electric bill just by using everyday item that just get thrown away want to know more just read on.

I have started to save more money by using the power of nature. I have installed solar lights to light up my garden not the dim ones you find on sale at the garden centre's but a bright light so you can actually see what your are doing. I have also built a small wind turbine to power my garage using old car parts and I am looking to build a water wheel to power most of the house as there is a stream near by and will give me power for all most all of the time.

What you need for the solar light is a couple of old car battery(I pick these up from my local garage for free and then recondition them click here to find out more), solar panel which you can make yourself at a fraction of the price and some 12 volt lights(I used some old car lights which cost£1 each from a carboot sale). The system I put together last for about 12 hours and takes about 2 day to charge if the battery are totally discharge. To find out more on how to builds these systems click here

If you want to build a small wind turbine you will also need a couple of old car battery, a alternator from a car or a permanent magnet DC motors(which can be brought from ebay) and an inverter. The system I built uses a bank of 6 car batteries which is enough to light it up and run some power tools for about 4-8 hours and cost me the same amount if I was to put power from the mains to the garage. Now for the water wheel which I intend to build it should cost about £1500 but then I should not have to worry about any more electric bill. I will still need some batteries for time of high consumption, a big Permanent magnet motor and some sort of water wheel. To find out more on how to builds these systems click here

They are sevels plan on how to build these sorts of system but the best one I found was Earth4Energy

I have an old escort van which I use for my logs. I have cut down on my fuel bill by fitting a hho system to it. If you want to find out more click here .
